This bill would change section 3736 of title 38, United States Code. It keeps the existing annual report and adds a new quarterly report requirement. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs must send a quarterly report to the Committees on Veterans' Affairs of the House and the Senate. Each quarterly report must cover the previous quarter and include: the number of housing loans insured, guaranteed, or made under this chapter; the number of applications for housing loan benefits denied; the number of loans refinanced under section 3710(a)(8) or section 3712; the number of veterans with mortgage payments at least 60 days late and at least 90 days late; and the number of full-time employees of the VA Home Loan Guaranty Service (or any successor office).
The House and Senate Committees on Veterans' Affairs would receive these quarterly counts and staffing figures. The reports list loan totals, denials, refinances, counts of late payments at 60 and 90 days, and the number of full-time staff in the VA Home Loan Guaranty Service.
