National endometriosis plan
Petitioners ask the Government of Canada to increase research funding for endometriosis and to develop a national action plan, co‑created with clinicians, researchers and people living with endometriosis, to improve diagnosis and treatment.
Why we would sign this petition
- It would increase research funding to accelerate development of better diagnostic tools and treatments, addressing petitioners' claim of slow research progress.
- A national action plan co‑created with patients, clinicians and researchers could standardize care, reduce wait times and improve awareness, diagnosis and treatment across jurisdictions.
- Co‑creation with people living with endometriosis would ensure policies reflect patient needs and lived experience, improving relevance and uptake.
Why we wouldn’t sign this petition
- Increasing research funding and launching a national plan would require substantial public resources and compete with other health priorities.
- Coordinating a national plan across provincial health systems may be complex, risking uneven implementation and limited impact.
- Reallocating existing funds or strengthening provincial programs might deliver improvements more quickly or efficiently than creating new federal initiatives.
