This bill amends the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act to require certain fee-free days each year for Federal recreational lands and waters. It changes the law so the Secretary must provide a free admission day or free use on these days: the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. (third Monday in January); the first day of National Park Week in April; Juneteenth (June 19); Great American Outdoors Day (August 4); National Public Lands Day (fourth Saturday in September); and Veterans Day (November 11). The bill also keeps the Secretary’s existing authority to set additional fee-free days.
On the listed days, entrance fees will not be charged at Federal recreational lands and waters, including units of the National Park System and other public lands.
