This bill would change Section 127 of Title 23, United States Code. It adds a new subsection that requires the Secretary of Transportation to waive federal vehicle weight limits for certain logging vehicles. A "covered logging vehicle" is one that (A) carries raw or unfinished forest products (for example, logs, pulpwood, biomass, or wood chips), (B) travels no more than 150 air miles on the Interstate from origin to a storage or processing facility, and (C) meets the State's legal weight tolerances and vehicle configuration rules where it is operating. The waiver applies only with respect to State legal weight tolerances that were in effect on the date this subsection is enacted.
