This bill requires the Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA), in consultation with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), to develop and share information and resources to help small businesses strengthen their cybersecurity and follow best practices.
The bill also directs the SBA, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense and other federal agencies, to provide information for small businesses that want to be prime contractors or subcontractors on federal contracts about the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program (or a successor). That information must be shared through small business development centers and SBA district offices and published on the SBA website.
The SBA must consult annually with the Chief Counsel for Advocacy to identify best practices for sharing cybersecurity information. The Chief Counsel must send Congress a report not later than 90 days after enactment and annually thereafter that includes the number and a description of small businesses that contacted the office about cybersecurity.
