The Drinking Water Safety Amendment Act

The Drinking Water Safety Act is amended to expand the director's authority to classify water systems. The director's classifications must be made in accordance with the regulations and approved by a medical officer. Amendments also address situations when the owner of a water system cannot be identified. In these circumstances, the director may order the person who owns or controls the land on which the water system is located to take responsibility for the water system. In addition, administrative amendments are made.
