Protect reading of sacred texts
Glen Motz · 28 signatures
Petitioners ask the Liberal government to amend Bill C-9 to explicitly prevent criminalization of reading or sharing passages from sacred texts and to protect freedom of religion and expression. The government responds that existing law and a good-faith clause in Bill C-9 already protect religious readings and teachings from prosecution while targeting only extreme hate.
